What KaraoKry keeps
Updated 1 November 2026 (the thumbs, skip reasons and problem reports added)
KaraoKry is a private party game being play-tested among friends. Carlos, the host, made it and runs it. This page says what it keeps about you and why.
When you sign in with Google
- Your name and email address, and Google's id for your account. That's all KaraoKry asks Google for: not your password, contacts, photos or anything else in your Google account.
- Whether the host has let you in, when you signed up and when you last played.
- Which phones you're signed in on (the kind of browser, so the host can tell them apart).
When you play
For every round played on your phone:
- which song was in the headphones, which song's lyrics were on screen, and the playlist;
- how it ended (Got It!, nobody got it, skipped, or the song wouldn't play), and how far into the song that was;
- the lyrics mode, whether the singer moved through the song, whether the singer was being filmed, the app's version, and when;
- if you tap them: "Fun round?" thumbs, why a song was skipped, and any problem reported with a song;
- whether the replay was shared or saved (not the video itself, and not where it went), and whether this phone had played the song before.
KaraoKry can't tell who was singing: rounds played on your phone are kept with your account, whoever sang them.
What KaraoKry doesn't keep
- The replay video of the singer stays on the phone and is gone after the round. It's never sent anywhere.
- No location, no contacts, no advertising trackers.
Why, and who sees it
- To let in only the people the host knows, and to keep you signed in.
- To learn which songs are too hard or too easy, so the game can get better.
- Only the host sees it. It's stored with Cloudflare, which runs KaraoKry's server. It's never sold or shared.
Deleting it
Ask the host to delete your account. Your name and email are deleted at once, and you're signed out everywhere. The rounds you played stay in the song statistics with nothing that links them to you.
